I’ve decided to set my own personal project to produce some full-colour illustrations for one of my favourite and such well known story ‘Alice in Wonderland’. I feel this could be quite a challenge as the scenes are so incredibly visually iconic and many people have set images in their head of the story, whether it be John Tenniel’s original book illustrations, disney’s animated adaption or more recently Tim Burton’s motion picture film adaption. I’ve gone back to the book and tried to create illustrations and accentuate on ideas through my own perspective. More to follow!

Grawplings are nasty, greedy little creatures which live underground, feasting on worms, maggots, slugs or any other fleshy thing (and yes that does include your finger, should one happen to come across it!) they can sink they little razor sharp teeth in to. With a heighten sense of smell, these little monsters can smell food from deep underground and are quick to hop out of the wet mud to grab what they can! However in these recent times, they have discovered our pipe systems and often travel through them into our homes, to discover the delights of our fridge contents! They will only do this at night, so just as a little warning, that lovely plump chicken you bought today for your Sunday roast tomorrow, well don’t expect it to be there in the morning!

Ooh it’s a new blog!

Hello there, this is my lovely new blog space! Having moved from my old Blogspot where ashamingly it remained untouched and covered in pixelated dust for the better part of a year (oopsie!) I have decided to use tumblr where it’s brighter, cleaner and more importantly..simpler to use! I shall be posting little doodles, messy sketches, rainy-day activities, illustrations that I am inspired by and just all-round lovely things that put a creative smile to my face.
